It’s a long weekend that seafood lovers wait for.
Every August 1st long weekend for 25 years, Southampton Foodland has held its Lobster Fest with fresh lobster flown in from Nova Scotia.
It seems that no matter how many lobster are ordered, it is a sold-out event. This year, almost 800 lobsters were pre-ordered, and while some customers like to cook their own, the majority leave it up to the professional Foodland staff who have the cooking down to a science. It’s a ‘cook while you wait’ event.
Some customers ordered two or more while others held lobster-at-home parties. One customer order 16 while another ordered 22!
Customers relaxed in the shade and enjoyed the live music while they waited for their lobster.
