When it comes to art, the first weekend in August is always popular with residents and tourists as local artists are invited to display their creativity at ‘Art on the Fence’ in Southampton. Everyone hopes for sunshine for the annual event and, this year, Mother Nature cooperated bringing sunny skies and hot temperatures.
The event is held on the grounds of Chantry Breezes B&B on High Street the first Saturday of August each year. It is a chance for artists to both display and sell their artwork or take commissions.
Some 30 artists and craftspeople, from handcrafted jewellery to wood carvings, photograph to paintings, displayed their artwork.
