The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly walk hosted by the United Way Bruce Grey in communities throughout Grey and Bruce Counties in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

In addition to individual donations, many organizations and businesses donated while many ‘teams’ were also organized to take part in the walks.

“This is amazing,” said organizer Melinda Myette looking around at the crowd, “it’s almost l like a block party except it’s freezing cold!”

Some participants walked 5km+ while others walked 2km and, living up to its name it was, in fact, one of the coldest nights of the 2024 winter season in Saugeen Shores.
