Annual Christmas Eve dinner ensures everyone has turkey with all the trimmings

On Christmas Eve (2018), more than 200 people enjoyed a turkey dinner at Living Hope Church at Maple Square Mall in Port Elgin.

Through the generosity and hard work of volunteers, friends and family of the Queen’s Bar & Grill in Port Elgin, Living Hope Centre and the community, approximately 200 or more people had the opportunity to spend Christmas eve enjoying a scrumptious Christmas dinner complete with all the trimmings.

In addition, according to the Queen’s owner, Pier Donnini, ‘The numbers this year are unbelievable. We also delivered 400 take-out meals to Saugeen First Nation and another to 150 in Port Elgin, more than triple that of last year. ”  

    Volunteers are kept busy dishing out

Each year, the numbers both for Maple Square sit-down dinners and take-outs increase and volunteers are kept busy.

Pier Donnini, founder of the event, said that he wants ensure that everyone at least has the opportunity to enjoy a full Christmas dinner and, each year, the event continues to grow.
