Annual Family Day event returns to in-person at PRANCE

At Miramichi Farms, the home of PRANCE (Pegasus Riding Association Nurturing Challenged Equestrians) Hwy. 21 in Port Elgin, the annual Open House for the public on Family Day, February 20th (2023) was held.

It was the first in-person event in three years due to Covid and it was a full-house.  For some, it was a first visit to the equestrian centre and an opportunity to see and learn about the facility.

In the arena, young visitors also had the chance to ride a horse, many for the first time.

Volunteers also served up hot chili along with home-baked treats to the many visitors who toured the stable and strolled outside to take a look at the horses in the paddocks.

In the recently opened new pavilion, visitors could go in and experience a face-to-face time with one of the horses.

Outside Kerstin Essmann (L) explained the connection between horses and people
