APTIM SERVICES CANADA CORP (APTIM) has established a significant local presence in Bruce County to support its new relationship with Bruce Power as one of the supplier partners for Bruce Power’s Life-Extension Program.

As a supplier, APTIM will provide services connected with Bruce Power’s Outage and Life-Extension Programs, as well as support for capital improvement projects, maintenance, and other work at the Bruce site.

APTIM has secured a 12,775 square foot office and shop facility located at 8 Mitchell St., Teeswater, in the Municipality of South Bruce, Bruce County. The company will be hiring local talent to fill the jobs at their new facility.

“It is exciting to form this new partnership with APTIM and see them expand their operations into Bruce County,” said John Soini, Bruce Power’s Executive Vice President, Finance & Commercial Services. “A strong Bruce Power means stronger communities, and stronger communities mean a stronger Bruce Power. New partnerships like these, combined with a strong local presence, will help ensure Bruce Power continues to provide clean, reliable, low-cost power, while enabling the company to execute its Outage and Life-Extension Programs on schedule and on budget.”

John Sowers, APTIM SERVICES CANADA CORP, said the company is excited to meet its new neighbours and become part of the rich history of Teeswater.

“We are pleased to have formed this new partnership with Bruce Power and establish roots in one of the communities in the tri-county area,” Sowers said. “Our mission is to deliver extraordinary results by merging inspired innovation with an empowered workforce. With APTIM, our customers and the communities in which we work can ‘Expect the Extraordinary.’”

Paul Eagleson, Bruce County Warden, congratulated APTIM on their expansion into the region and emphasized the important role Bruce Power suppliers play in enhancing our regional economy and local job opportunities.

“New companies are bringing in new job opportunities for our youth and helping to attract new talent to the area,” the Warden added. “Our high quality of life, along with new job opportunities in communities like Teeswater, are helping our county thrive in this wonderful time of growth.”

In 2016, Bruce Power and the County of Bruce launched a regional economic development initiative to facilitate the expansion of Bruce Power Suppliers into the region. This initiative was in response to Bruce Power’s multi-billion dollar, multi-year Life Extension Program and includes Grey and Huron Counties in its engagement and delivery.
