The Port Elgin and Saugeen Township Beachers’ Organization has been busy making improvements to the waterfront at Gobles Grove Beach and Port Elgin Main Beach.

The group installed two defibrillators – one at the Port Elgin Main beach house and the other at the Gobles Grove Beach washroom.  The installation was part of the organization’s annual project for 2021.

Lisa Wells of Walkerton tried out the new binoculars

Last year’s project was a binocular viewing station for the new break-wall promenade at Port Elgin harbour that had to wait for installation as the wall was under re-construction.  Once re-construction was completed, the binocular was installed and is being used by visitors to the harbour.

Next year, the organization will be donating a new aluminium flagpole at the main beach to replace the historic cedar flagpole that had been  provided by the John Mann family many years ago.
