The Breakers Swim Team had great success at the Huronia Regoinal Short Course Championships held in Owen Sound, from January 31st to February 2nd.

The Breakers had seven swimmers competing and, overall, the team received 20 Top 8 finishes and recorded 23 Personal Best Times (PB). The team had an amazing event by breaking seven Club Records (CR). Michelle Wang set a new CR in the 50m Fly with a time of 31.12 seconds; Aurora Jacobi set 2 new CRs in the 400m Free with 4:40.04 and in the 800m Free with a time of 9:44.83.
The relay teams also broke multiple records. Hannah Kent, Michelle Wang, Natalia Perico, and Aurora Jacobi set a new CR in the 15 & Over Girls 200m Medley with a time of 2:14.03. The girls also broke another CR in the 200m Free Relay with a time of 1:56.21.
In the 15 & Over Mixed 200m Free Relay Matthew Bull, Aurora Jacobi, Natalia Perico, andJayson Horseman set a new CR with 1:52.36.
Lastly, H. Kent, J. Horseman, M. Bull, and M. Wang set a new CR in the 15 & over Mixed 200m Medley Relay with a time of 2:09.48.
In the 13 year old Boys, Bull got six PB times, multiple 1st place finishes in the 50m Free, 50m Fly, and 200m and also had multiple 2nd place finishes in the 50m,100m and 200m Breast, as well as 2nd in the 400m Free.
In the 15 – 17 year old Girls age group Jacobi finished with five PB times, 3rd in 400m Free, 4th in the 800m both breaking CRs. As well as 5th in the 200m Free.
Kent took home two PB times and placed 8th in the 50m Back.
Wang had great success with five PB times, 3rd place finishes in the 50m Free, and 50m Fly which broke the CR. She also received 5th in the 50m Back, and 8th in 100m and 200m Back.
Perico also had a great event with 3 PB times and 5th in the 50m Free.
In the 15 -17 year old Boys, Horseman took home two PB times, and placed 4th in the 1500m Free, 7th in the 50m Breast, and 8th in the 100m Breast.
The Breakers will be competing at the 2020 Breakers Development Meet March 8th in Port Elgin
