Bruce County appoints a new Director of Planning and Development

Bruce County is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Paoli as the new Director of Planning and Development, effective December 21, 2020.

As a member of the County’s Senior Leadership Team, Paoli will oversee the continued development of the new Official Plan, as well as significant economic planning strategies and programs, including those responding to COVID-19 challenges.

 

Under his leadership, the Planning and Development team will:

• Work with municipalities to be “development ready”

• Inspire and attract economic development, building on the County’s strong tourism, agriculture, and energy sectors

• Build on the successes of the County’s award-winning Explore the Bruce, Spruce the Bruce, and Business to Bruce initiatives

Paoli is an experienced leader and has been a member of the Bruce County team since 2018, having most recently served as Land Use Planning Manager where he led several initiatives to improve land use planning services. Mark previously led planning activities and policy at Wellington County for over 18 years.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Rural Planning and Development and is accredited as a Registered Planning Professional with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
