Bruce County Playhouse presents last Sunday Showcase of 2025

When it comes to talent, Bruce County has no shortage and, thanks to the Bruce County Playhouse, audiences can enjoy the incredible musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers from the area at the Sunday Showcase held in Southampton’s Town Hall.

On the last Sunday of each month in January and February, it was a chance to get away from the wintry blues, to sit back, enjoy refreshments and snacks, and afternoons filled with entertainment.

For some, the Showcase offers a chance  to perhaps perform for the first time in front of an audience, while for others who are professionals, it’s an opportunity to entertain and share their talents with the community.

Christina Edwards, for instance, is an accomplished pianist who performs regularly in concert throughout the region in addition to being an accompanist and piano teacher.

Edwards performed the selection ‘Thank you for the Music’ by Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus from “Benny Anderson Piano”.

For Sandra Belanger, it’s all about her passion for dance and at her school of dance in Port Elgin, there is no age limit, from the very young to the Adult Tappers.

Fortunately, however, there is one last opportunity to take in local talent this winter at the final Sunday Showcase on March 30th.

The afternoon showtime is at 2:00 p.m., but it’s recommended to arrive early in order to get a seat, as the past two Showcases have been standing-room only.

Admission is by donation.

While the Sunday Showcases may be coming to a close, it’s only the beginning of another  summer season of live professional theatre with comedy and music as Bruce County Playhouse prepares to host three hilarious productions that will be sure to have audiences rolling in laughter.
