Today is Remembrance Day and a time to remember all those who fought in war and, each year, the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre (BCM&CC) hosts a ‘Time to Remember’.
This year, the Museum hosted ‘Trench Talks: History is a Fight’ on November 6th with keynote speaker Tim Cook. Cook is the Director of Research at the Canadian War Museum (CWM), was the curator for the First World War permanent gallery at the CWM and has curated additional temporary, travelling, and digital exhibitions.
He is the author of twelve books and over one-hundred academic articles and book chapters. In 2012, Tim was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal for his contributions to Canadian history and in 2013 he received the Governor General’s History Award for Popular Media: The Pierre Berton Award. Tim is a Director for Canada’s History Society, a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and a member of the Order of Canada.
For those who were unable to attend the event, the following is an interview with Cook as presented by the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.
