Bruce Power and Museum partner for virtual Earth Week student program

In celebration of Earth Week, Bruce Power has partnered with the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre to offer free webinars for students to learn from local experts who will share their knowledge of biodiversity and invasive species.

“Bruce Power is committed to strengthening our communities, protecting our environment and enhancing a clean, safe and sustainable way of life for present and future generations,” said Danielle LaCroix, Bruce Power’s Senior Director of Environment, Sustainability & Net Zero. “We are excited to partner with the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre on this fun and educational program so students and community members can learn about local ecosystems and how we can help protect biodiversity.”

The program connects to the Grade 6 Biodiversity strand of the Ontario curriculum and will highlight terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity and challenges posed by invasive species.

The videos and challenge activities will be available on the Museum’s Education Centre starting April 19th.

“The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is excited to deliver this environmental education program online once again in partnership with Bruce Power,” said Lauren Beer, Education and Outreach Coordinator, Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre. “The digital format provides us the opportunity to reach students and families from across the Bluewater and Bruce Grey Catholic District School boards, and beyond.”
