This year’s Cham-bette of the year was presented by past-President Jackie Smith and Membership chair Vi Campbell to the deserving Jo Anne Willetts.

The Cham-bettes is a philanthropic group of local women whose generations, for more than 60 years, have believed in putting the fun into FUNdraising.

Funds raised by the group (through garage sales, plant sales, Stuff the Scarecrow Fall event and its well-known and popular major fundraiser, the annual Christmas Home Tour which is now heading into its 15 year), go back into the community.

Throughout the years, the list of recipients for funds is long, including Women’s Houses in the area, the local Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, Food Banks, Hospices, youth groups and more.

Recently, the group held its annual Octogenarian luncheon at the seniors’ Chantry Centre 55+ in Southampton where they honour those in their 80s by preparing and serving lunch.

The 2023 Christmas Tour of Homes is already planned for Friday, November 17th and Saturday, November 18th

… and the FUNdraising continues
