Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bluewater resident with a criminal driving offence following a report of a road-rage traffic complaint in the Municipality of Bluewater on July 1st, 2024.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. on Monday, July 1st, Huron County OPP received a report of an incident that occurred on Staffa Road in Bluewater. The complainant described the suspect vehicle, driver, and provided the licence plate for the vehicle.
Police attended the vehicle owner’s address and located the suspect vehicle. In speaking to the suspected driver, the officer believed the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and demanded a breath sample. The driver refused to provide the required breath sample and was arrested for refusal.
A 52 year-old male from Bluewater has been charged with:
– Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand.
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused’ driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 12th at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
