On June 20, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) introduced the Energy Savings Rebate Program with the goal of making energy-efficient products more accessible to people and businesses across Ontario.
The program provides funding to eligible retailers to support point of sale rebates for energy efficiency products in Ontario. The new program will help Ontarians reduce energy use, save money, and address climate change.
Approximately $200 million has been made available for ‘eligible’ retailers to provide rebates. Several criteria were set out by the government for a retailer to become eligible to offer this special program to customers and Square Deal Neil’s in Southampton (Saugeen Shores) is one of those retailers.
“It’s of real benefit for our customers who are looking at purchasing an energy efficient appliance,”says owner Edith Sinclair, “because we can now offer up to 25% off the purchase price of eligible products up to $500 for a wide variety of energy efficient appliances, such as:
● ENERGY STAR certified washer
● ENERGY STAR certified dryer
● ENERGY STAR certified washer/dryer combo
● ENERGY STAR certified dishwasher
● CEE Tier 3 certified refrigerator and/or refrigerator freezer
● Induction stove top
