As Indigenous History month of June comes to a close, Faith Lutheran Church Sunday’s service on June 28th was a focus on indigenous peoples of Canada with a special guest speaker presenting information about “Water First.”
Water First is an organization that is assisting Inuit, Métis, and First Nations people to have clean drinking water. Faith Lutheran Church Mission & Outreach Committee has chosen “Water First” for its July appeal.
In addition, Jan Sinclair shared paintings by Saugeen First Nation artist, Emily Kewageshig an Indigenous patterned scarf.
Pastor Dar also showed quilts that she has made with fabric from an Anishinaabe artist Jackie Traverse from Winnipeg. The quilts will be donated to Hospice care facilities.
