Feeling Stretched Caring for a Loved One? Tools for Caregivers Workshop coming to Elgin Lodge

Caring for a loved one can be deeply rewarding—but it can also be challenging, exhausting, and isolating. Whether you provide care in your own home, from a distance, or through frequent visits, you are a caregiver—and you deserve support.

South West Self Management Program, in partnership with the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON), is pleased to present ‘Powerful Tools for Caregivers’. This free workshop series is designed to help caregivers build skills, reduce stress, and improve their own well-being while continuing to provide compassionate care.

Wednesdays, September 17 – October 22 – 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Pre-registration is required

If you:

.  Care for a loved one at home or from a distance
.  Attend medical appointments with them
.  Assist with groceries, chores, and laundry
.  Help with medications
.  Join them for social activities and outings

Participants will learn practical strategies to:

  • Communicate more effectively
  • Manage emotions and reduce stress
  • Make tough caregiving decisions
  • Find and use local resources

Also available through the VON at Elgin Lodge, is a Caregiver Peer Support Group that meets the 2nd Monday of every month at 1:30 pm and is open to the public – feel free to stop in and chat.
