For decades a rallying cry for workers has been “an injury to one is an injury to all”. Our community and region is reeling from the most tragic of situations. Members of our community have been lost forever and the entire region and communities affected are grieving in unison.
A car accident on May 23rd has taken the lives of four student athletes and an educator. Lives changed forever, communities to never be the same and dreams to go unfulfilled. “The Grey Bruce Labour Council and the thousands of workers affiliated to the Council grieve and feel this gaping injury to loved ones, friends, family as an injury to all,” says Labour Council President Kevin Smith.
Open arms and hearts in the vastness of such devastation will be found in every soul of every person associated with the Labour Council. Know that, amongst our community and the village that we really are, that every worker associated with the Council, will keep those lost and left in our hearts and prayers as we grieve with the world at the loss of wonderful people.
