It was an exciting day in Southampton (Saugeen Shores) as more than 900 cyclists descended on the town to take part in the annual Gran Fondo Lake Huron fundraising event for the local hospital’s Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Riders had their choice of distances from 10km, 30km, 50km, 75km, 80km or the longest at 110km.
The weather was ideal as the day began at 7:00 a.m., when riders for the 110km started off followed by riders in the other categories.
