Grimsby Super Spiel winner takes home top prize

Port Elgin Super Spiel held on the weekend (Nov. 12-14) at Port Elgin Curling Club is one of the top cash spiels in Ontario.

Team Ferris of Grimsby came out on top as the team won the  Port Elgin Super Spiel at 7 to 2 over Team Kean in the final on Sunday, November 14th (2021).

The Super Spiel that took place over the weekend at Port Elgin Curling Club resumed at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.  Quarter final action saw Ansley(Toronto) vs. Steep (Waterloo), Kean (Ingersol) vs. Latimer (Ottawa), Lawes (Collingwood) vs. Tippen (Brantford) and Mooibreak (KW) vs Ferris (Grimsby).

The winners advanced to the semi-final round at 12:00 noon and those winners went on to the final at 3:00 p.m. to play for first prize money of $5,000.

The Ferris team defeated the Lawes team and Kean won over Latimer so that Ferris and Kean then moved on to the final with Ferris coming out on top.
