November 23rd at 6:30 p.m. will see the annual Holiday season flipping of the light switch by Mayor Charbonneau at the tree lighting in front of the Southampton Town Hall.
Joining the Mayor, will be Southampton BIA Chair Sara Porter and all will be delighted with some seasonal music from the Chantry Singers.
The official Tree Lighting kicks off Southampton Sparkles, a shopping extravaganza in Southampton where participating businesses will remain open until 9:00 p.m. for convenient holiday shopping.
November 24th also sees the return of the old-fashioned, horse-drawn wagon rides along High Street from 4:30-8:00 p.m. with teamster James Thomas of Tiverton. James returns to Southampton with his big wagon and an impressive pair of draft horses for four Fridays, Nov. 24, Dec. 8, 15 and 27th.
Although the wagon rides are free, the BIA encourages riders to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to local food banks in Saugeen Shores and Saugeen First Nation.
