Hundreds attend annual Métis Rendezvous in Southampton

The annual Historic Saugeen Métis Rendezvous was indoors this year due to the weatherman forecasting rain and possible thunderstorms.

Usually held at Pioneer Park in Southampton, the event this year moved into the Southampton Curling Rink on Saturday (Aug.12), as it has in the past if there is inclement weather.  The location change however, didn’t deter the hundreds of people who attended.

With live music by renowned champion fiddler, Shane Cook, step-dancing and the always popular fresh whitefish dinner, the Rendezvous attracts local residents and visitors alike.
