Friday was definitely a ‘school day’ as Northport Elementary School held its Terry Fox assembly to recognize fundraising efforts.
Students cheered as teachers, Mrs. Downey and Mrs. Carey were duct-taped to the wall for their efforts at raising $1,500.
Then it was pie-in-the-face-time for Mrs. Gruberbauer, Mrs. Tolton and Mrs. Kennedy who were responsible for raising $1,000.
Altogether, the school raised $1,770.60 that will go toward Terry Fox research for a cancer cure.
