At Monday night’s June 21st meeting of Saugeen Shores Committee of Whole, the Lamont Sports Park Concept Plan was presented by Sports Turf International in consultation with the Town’s Lamont Sports Park Advisory Committee.
The plan provides opportunities for a phased-in approach to construction. Construction can occur when the municipality and community are ready and when it makes sense to proceed to the next phase.
The plan for a sports park complex took a giant step forward when the community rallied together in a Canada-wide contest to win the Kraft Heinz Project Play $250,000 top prize in the Fall of 2019.
Now that the Advisory Committee has supported the consultant’s work, Town staff will finalize the business plan for Council’s review.
“We are pleased to receive the proposal for this facility,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau, “and Council looks forward to seeing the business plan once it is completed.”
