At its January 30th board meeting, Lori Kohl was appointed as PRANCE President after three years of serving as a board director. With a background in education and health and safety, Lori is well-positioned to take on this new challenge. She brings experience, passion and dedication to the role and has experienced an inspiring equine journey of her own.
“It is an incredible honour to become president. Having been an active volunteer for the past seven years, I have witnessed first-hand the transformative impact PRANCE programs have on participants and their families. As a parent whose son was a therapeutic rider, I know how invaluable the support and services we offer can be,” said Kohl.
PRANCE is an independent registered charity and therapeutic equestrian centre where horses help people with disabilities. Over the past few years, the organization has faced financial challenges in the wake of the pandemic, inflation and rising costs.
In her new role, Kohl will make fundraising her top priority and hopes to help PRANCE expand their services in the community so that others may benefit through connections with horses.
On February 17th, PRANCE will be holding its annual Open house from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This fundraiser for the horses will feature: pony rides, face-painting, facility tours, refreshments and more!
