The group that receives sponsorship funding from major sponsors such as Bruce Power and Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for its annual Marine Heritage Festival, made the decision to return the funds in support of pandemic relief. Instead however, the sponsors decided to let MHS retain their sponsorship funds, following which the MHS decided to ‘pay it forward’ in the community.
Despite COVID-19 times, the Marine Heritage Society (MHS) Committee met at its September meeting at the Southampton firehall while following health protocols.
With a positive spirit and looking forward with optimism, the MHS attempts to meet regularly to make plans for the 2021 10th anniversary Festival. Looking back at the Festival events, COVID may have interrupted the celebrations but it has not defeated the enthusiasm of the volunteers.
MHS is still inviting those who want to make a difference and help in the organizing of the 2021 10th Anniversary celebration to visit: http://www.marineheritagefestival.com/contact-us.html
