New Rotary Club formed to serve Saugeen Shores growing population

Rotary District 6330 Governor David J. Elliott has announced the chartering of a new Rotary Club to serve Saugeen Shores.

In making the announcement, Elliott said, “The community of Saugeen Shores continues to grow and thrive with ever changing needs. Rotary Clubs provide a place for those with a passion for community service to connect, share ideas and discover how to improve the lives of others.”

The newly formed Rotary Club of Saugeen Shores will compliment the established clubs in the area – the Rotary Club of Southampton and Rotary Club of Port Elgin.

Elliott also said that it is “… especially heartening to see the formation of a new club during a time when church and service organizations in general are seeing diminishing numbers. Add to that the fact that we are dealing with a pandemic and this makes it even more meaningful.”

Elliott is Governor of a Rotary District that is made up of 65 clubs in a geographic area that includes large portions of Southern Ontario and several counties in Michigan in the U.S.

The new Rotary Club of Saugeen Shores joins the District clubs and is now part of Rotary International’s 1.2 million memberships.
