The afternoon event featured music by Al Crawford and a buffet along with refreshments.

The Levée dates back in history to the 1600s with a long military connection. The annual event however, is still hosted by the Governor General of Canada, provincial lieutenant governors, military establishments, municipalities and other institutions, such as the Royal Canadian Legion. It has a long tradition in the Canadian Forces as one of the activities associated with New Year’s Day.

The Levée is also an opportunity to catch up with old friends, reflect on the year that has ended and celebrate the new one.
