Obituary: Abby Bolton – December 16, 2020

Abby Irene Bolton (nee Smith) passed suddenly, in her 58th year at home. Beloved soulmate of Michael for 43 years. Wonderful mother of Sheena (Adam), Zachary (Christina), and dog Rogue. Daughter of James Smith (Anne) and predeceased by her mother Irene Manuel (nee Robidoux).

Loving sister of Connie (Al), Paul (Heather), and Brad. “Wife” to Cathy (Les). Auntie will be greatly missed by her loving nieces (Breanne, Ella, and Courtney) and nephews (Jamie, Jake, Gus, and Kyle).

She organized anything that people asked for and gave tirelessly to her community. If you spent an hour with Abby, she took interest in you. The light she carried with her, can be carried forward by all of us. Her work with the dog park, canine unit and many other organizations have left a lasting impression. She opened her heart to all and was loved by many, both human and canine.

Abby was born in Kingston and moved to Cargill in 1976 with her family. After Abby and Michael were married in 1988 they remained in Walkerton, before finally settling in Port Elgin in 1990.

Abby’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be a private family service. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations go towards the Town of Saugeen Shores to support the Saugeen Shores Off-Leash Dog Park and Police K-9 unit or to Canine Vision Canada (a division of the Lion’s Club).
