Clifford James passed away peacefully at home in Southampton on Monday October 3rd, 2022 at the age of 82.
Born in Southampton on May 16th, 1940, he was the son of the late Ivor and Sarah (nee White) James. Beloved husband to Teresa (nee Cotter) James. Loving father to Raymond of Ottawa, Linda (Al) of Calgary, Pauline (Remus) of Markham and Jeffrey (Colleen) of Toronto. Loving Grandfather “Boppa” to Kaila (Cody), Mark (Rachelle), Sergiu, Daniel and Maxwell. Loving great grandfather to Hayden. Uncle Cliff will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Bernard (Dianne), Raymond (Margaret), Brian (Joanne), Paul (Joyce) and sister in laws Patricia and Dorothy. Predeceased by sisters Sylvia and her husband Earl Gethings and Gloria and her husband Bruce Melhuish, mother and father in law, Velma and Harold Cotter. Sisters-in-law Carol Ann Cotter and Mary Cotter. Brothers-in-law Gerald Povelofski, Ken Knorr, and Stuart Jacklin and niece and nephews Ann Wilson, James Melhuish, Quinten Jacklin, Kevin and David Povelofski.
He will also be remembered by his fishing buddies at the river and good friend Lee Dawson. His family and friends are going to miss his sense of adventure, wicked sense of humour, and storytelling. His love for you was even bigger than his heart and he has a chocolate bar waiting for you.
A Celebration of Clifford’s Life will take place on October 16th, 2022 from 1 until 4 p.m. at 49 Huron Street South, Southampton, ON. Our gathering will be mainly outside. For those attending, please dress warmly and comfortably and know that Blue Jays attire is entirely appropriate.
