Once Upon a Time: Local author continues the tradition for Historical Society

In the absence of columnist Rev. Bob Johnston recently retired for medical reasons, we are pleased that well-known local author Robin Hilborn has stepped in to continue the ‘Once Upon a Time’ writings on behalf of the Bruce County Historical Society.

A retired information officer for the federal government in Montreal and Quebec City, writer and editor Robin Hilborn has lived in Southampton (ON) since 1999.

In addition to several locally-based books, including Southampton Vignettes: A Brief History of a Lake Huron Town and ‘Heart of the Great Lakes’, Hilborn created a companion book, ‘The Bruce’, based on the documentary historical film “The Bruce“, in which Hilborn also acted.
