Faith Lutheran Church Port Elgin currently has two families from its congregation that are now staying at the Ronald McDonald House in London, Ontario while their little ones are receiving life-saving medical attention.
Therefore, Faith Lutheran Church has decided to hold a one-week fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada (“RMHCC”).
Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada (RMHCC) is a non-profit organization that provides temporary accommodation for families with seriously ill children who have to travel to access necessary medical care.
RMHCC’s 33 programs across Canada consist of 16 Ronald McDonald Houses, that provide families with a home near the hospital while their child is receiving treatment, and 17 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, which provide families with a room within the hospital.
With 16 specialty children’s hospitals in Canada, many families need to travel to receive treatment for their sick child. RMHC locations across Canada shorten the distance by giving families a place to stay together, close to the health care their child needs. RMHC program locations across Canada give families the support and resources they need like meals, mental health and wellness programming, and sibling support, so they can focus on what matters most – caring for their seriously ill child.
The funding raised directly impacts the ability for RMHCC to provide emotional, physical, and financial support to families of seriously ill children through our House and Family Room programs. “
Over the next week (September 1 – 7), donations to help support the Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada can be made by one of the following options:
- Offering Plate (cash or cheque): Place your donation in an offering envelope indicating your name and the donation amount for “RMHCC”.
- DONATE NOW (credit card): Go to the www.faithportelgin.com website and select the DONATE NOW button located in the top right-hand corner. Be sure to indicate that it is for the “RMHCC”; or
- Etransfer: send a bank etransfer to faithlutheran@bmts.com . Be sure to indicate that it is for the “RMHCC”.
All cheques should be made payable to Faith Lutheran Church with a notation that it is for the “RMHCC”. All donations will be included in an annual charitable receipt statement.
