The Board of Management of the Port Elgin BIA has made the difficult decision to cancel the Port Elgin Farmer’s Market for the remainder of the 2020 season.
The Board had originally postponed the market in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, it was determined the market could not operate without risking the health and safety of vendors and patrons.
“This was a tough decision, but we looked at Coulter Parkette and could not find a way to operate the market in a manner that would satisfy the new reality of social distancing and sanitization,” said BIA Chair Addison Ziegler.
The Board will examine the future of the market as part of the planning process for 2021 BIA projects.
“We wish our vendors nothing but success and we hope to see them back in Coulter Parkette in 2021,” added Ziegler.
