Port Elgin Royal Canadian Legion Branch 340 is lending a helping hand to the ‘Playscape Beautification and Enhancement Project’ at Saugeen District Senior School (SDSS).

The project is an initiative of the students and fundraising coordinator Karen Fehr, who is on the School Community Council (SCC) for SDSS, to purchase equipment and benches for the Grades 7 and 8 students’ outside area. “We are reaching out to the community for donations to help with this project,” said SCC member Karen Fehr. “Things like swing sets and basketball nets are very expensive in today’s market.”

“We are pleased to be able to help in this great project,” said Legion Branch 340 President Robert Harrison.

“It’s wonderful to see students involved in a fundraising initiative that will have an impact now and into the future,” added 2nd Vice President Rhonda Harrison.
