Port Elgin man faces several charges

On February 28th, Saugeen Shores Police while on general patrol in Port Elgin observed a male known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Robbery.

Police attempted to place the male under arrest when he began to resist and was eventually placed under arrest without further issue.

Police located a large quantity of cash and suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a prohibited weapon in his waist band.

As a result, the 38-year-old male of Port Elgin has been charged with:

– Robbery
– Resist Peace Officer
– Failure to Comply with Release Order
– Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance
– Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
– Possession of a prohibited device
– Failure to Comply with Probation Order

He was held in custody for a Bail Hearing and further remanded into custody.
