Port Elgin United Church celebrates 20th Anniversary of the Bruce Street Location

In the spring of 1999, the congregation of Port Elgin United Church marched from Mill Street to the newly built Bruce Street location. It was a time of celebration as the hard work and dedication of so many people were recognized in thanksgiving to God.

Port Elgin United Church has a proud history of inviting the community to utilize our facilities; firstly, as a place of worship, and then as a place to meet or to socialize. This barrier-free facility was designed to serve many cultural events in the sanctuary and physical activities in the Family Activity Centre. The church has become a hub of activity in our community.

Our thanksgivings continue as we mark 20 years and the on-going ministry we share in Jesus name. On Sunday, June 2 our 10 a.m. Service of Worship will include joyous music from our very gifted musical groups, times of reflection and prayer. Speakers from the original Building Committee will share how the dreams, ideas, and needs of many people over 10-15 years resulted in the building we have today.

We extend an invitation to our community to join us! Special gathering music is planned from 9:40 a.m. with favourite selections from our musicians-so please come early.

This will be truly a time for celebration. May our work and worship continue to Find Us Faithful.
