The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation’s (SMHF) “Bring TOM to Town” Computed TOMography (CT) Scanner fundraising campaign saw a recent challenge answered when Brian Shular and his team from The Sutton–Huron Shores Realty Inc. Group made a five-year $25,000 pledge.

Recently, the Hospital Foundation received a $20,000 from local realtor Doug Johnston who challenged other area realtors to join him in the effort to bring the CT scanner to the Saugeen Shores community. Brian Shular and the realtors from Sutton-Huron Shores Realty office didn’t disappoint as they committed to their $25,000 five-year pledge.
“Our community is so appreciative of what the Hospital and staff provide to this community. Our team at Sutton-Huron Shores Realty Inc. Brokerage of Brian Shular, Susan Shular, Doug Freiburger, Kaitlyn Shular and Joey Wentworth, appreciates the opportunity to make this commitment on behalf of our past, present and future clients. Again, we would like to thank the Foundation and the Hospital staff, for what you do on a daily basis and the ongoing vision of the future requirements of this Community. We are all so lucky to be a part of this awesome community,” said Brian Shular.
The $3 million CT fundraising campaign launched in late October now sits at $1.5 million. SMHF Executive Director, Tracy Murray, is hopeful that area businesses will join Team TOM in the coming months to help bring the life saving and much needed CT scanner to Bruce County.
“There are many ways that people or businesses can help us reach the $3 million goal for this project,” says Murray. “Mail in your Light the Way donation slip that you received in your mail, or call our office, buy some CT scanner lottery tickets, businesses can come on board for event sponsorships, or anyone can easily start their own fundraiser by using our fundraising platform online, with a few simple clicks you get a custom fundraising page and link to share with friends and family. Whether you contribute $5 or $50,000, every single gift is crucial to reaching the goal and creating a tremendous impact on improving healthcare in our area.”
