Rotary of Saugeen Shores Classic Golf Tournament a winner

Rotary Club of Saugeen Shores’ 4th annual Classic Golf Tournament was once again a winner.

The sold-out event held at Westlinks Golf and Country Club in Port Elgin exceeded fundraising expectations raising more than $20,000.

Before heading out on the links, the traditional Ball Toss took place with Tom Feenstra coming out the winner.

While everyone enjoyed the day of golf, the silent and live auctions also raised funds that will go toward the Lamont Sports Park accessible playground.

“Lamont Sports Park is an investment that will make a difference to the entire region,” said MP Ben Lobb, “and the accessible playground structure is a destination for the whole community.”

Rotary Club of Saugeen Shores’ newly elected President Addison Ziegler thanked everyone for their support in helping to achieve the Club’s fundraising goal.  “We continue to grow in numbers and this past month alone we had five new members join. As with most organizations, we are looking forward to the future and welcoming younger members to keep the Club vibrant.”
