Located Northwest of Owen Sound, ON Camp Presqu’ile covers 14 acres of beautiful Georgian Bay shoreline. In partnership with the Owen Sound Rotary Club, the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey-Bruce has provided overnight summer camp to youth aged 6-16 for the past 90+ years. The YMCA and Rotary are happy to announce registration opening for Summer 2023 on November 7th (2022).
After two years of closure, Camp Presqu’ile re-opened last year and welcomed back young people to the shores of Georgian Bay. The Rotary Club and YMCA were thrilled to see the community once again taking advantage of this summer oasis for Grey Bruce kids. The summer was a great success with smiles and laughter easily found around site. Summer Camp Director, Scotia Hutton, is already looking forward to the summer of 2023 and hopes as many campers as possible from the local community will attend camp this summer.
“I’m really looking forward to being back at camp for the summer of 2023. It was such a joy being at Presqu’ile last summer and learning about the impact camp has had on generations of children in Grey Bruce. I can’t wait to have campers return next summer and welcome new campers to our community” said Scotia Hutton, Camp Director.
Camp Presqu’ile is a unique summer camp that focuses on the camper’s development in “spirit, mind and body”. Through low camper to staff ratios, campers can be members of a community that focuses on f fun, fair play and building relationships with fellow campers. Campers have an opportunity to participate in activities ranging from ecology, drama, and arts and crafts, to archery, swimming, and canoeing.
Registration for summer 2023 begins on November 7th with early bird pricing until November 20th through the YMCA’s online portal, Camp Brain.
