April 8th meeting of Saugeen Shores Council was a long one extending beyond 11:00 p.m..
It was however, also the last meeting to be held in the existing Chambers.
As part of the Saugeen Shores Aquatic and Wellness Centre (AWC) project, the Municipal Offices will be undergoing renovations and the Council Chambers will no longer be available for use starting on April 15, 2024.
To accommodate Committee of the Whole, Council, and Committee of Adjustment meetings, discussions have taken place with the Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII) for the use of its location during this period.
Location of these meetings are governed by Procedural By-law and, therefore, a resolution was required to change the location and update the Council Meeting Calendar. The 2024 Council Meeting passed the resolution amended to change the location to 620 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin, from April 15, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
