
The Town of Saugeen Shores declared a Significant Weather Event due to winter weather, effective 12:15 p.m. on January 19, 2026, and continuing until further notice.
Due to ongoing weather conditions, the following updates are provided as of 3 p.m., January 23, 2026.
Roads

Miramichi Bay Road from South St. to Concession 10 is closed

In-town roads in Port Elgin and Southampton remain open
Municipal Facilities

Southampton Coliseum is closed

Port Elgin Plex is closed

Port Elgin Centennial Pool is closed

Southampton Landfill is closed

The above facilities will have a delayed start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 24
The Town will continue to monitor conditions and closures and will provide further updates as they become available.
Declaration of a Significant Weather Event indicates that due to current or forecasted conditions, caution should be used when traveling on municipal roads and sidewalks. It also means the Town may require additional time to clear and maintain roads and sidewalks.
