Saugeen shores Special Olympics celebrate many 2024 achievements

When it comes to athletic games, Special Olympians are in a league of their own.

 

On Friday, May 10th, Saugeen Shores Special Olympics celebrated their many recent athletic victories and the re-naming of their organization. at their award celebration held at Port Elgin United Church.

Joining the athletes and their families were the many supporters and volunteers from various community organizations.

Athletes Jeremy Kranenburg and Mike Bailey presented each of the supporters with a special banner featuring the new name of the group, Saugeen Shores Special Olympics, along with its motto “Let Me Win but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt”.

The Youth Group of Port Elgin United Church organized by Joan and Dennis Kazimer volunteered and served the meal.

The athletes were also thrilled to receive special certificates of achievement.
