Saugeen Sparks Training Centre (the Centre) is excited to announce the receipt of $50,000 in funding through the Rural Economic Development (RED) grant program. This essential funding is designated to support staff salaries and marketing efforts, critical components in ensuring the success of its skilled trades training programs.

The RED grant provides the Centre with the resources necessary to build a foundation of strong staffing and effective outreach, enabling it to attract more participants, foster key partnerships and promote its programs. These efforts aim to expand access to high-quality skilled trades training, empowering individuals and strengthening the local workforce.
“This funding support is essential for our growth and impact as we deliver career readiness skills and develop tomorrow’s tradespeople” said Rob Stanley, Executive Director of Saugeen Sparks Training Centre. “The RED grant enables us to invest in the people and tools needed to deliver on our mandate. By supporting salaries and marketing, we can ensure that our programs continue to effectively reach and serve our communities.”
“I am pleased to see the Saugeen Sparks Training Centre receive $50,000 through the Rural Economic Development (RED) Grant, which will help advance its important work in empowering individuals across Grey, Bruce and Huron Counties,” said Lisa Thompson, MPP for Huron-Bruce. “This funding enables their dedicated staff to continue to support and equip their students with the practical skills needed to succeed in today’s job market, strengthening our workforce, supporting apprenticeships, and fostering economic growth in our communities.”
