Work has begun at the foot of High Street in Southampton to shore up and repair the shoreline surrounding the giant iconic flag.
The recent years of high water levels caused erosion and damage to the protective wall at Dominion Lookout overlooking Lake Huron.
The area is now closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic until at least May according to the Town.

Work also continues along the shoreline at Fenton Street in Port Elgin. Again, high water levels over the past few years has created the need to bolster the shoreline support and protect the multi-use trail for pedestrian and cyclists that runs alon the shore.
