Special Olympians bring home more medals in Track & Field

Saugeen Shores Special Olympic athletes recently participated in the Provincial Qualifier Track & Field meet held by the Huronia Special Olympics in Midland at St. Theresa’s Catholic High School.

Despite the very very hot day the athletes did well in their events.

  • Aimee Gilchrist- First in 100m, 200m, Javelin and Standing Long Jump
  • Austin McLaren – Second in 100m and 300m, First in Javelin and Shot Put
  • Curtis Button – First in 400m and Shot Put, Third in Javelin
  • Ben Luscombe – First in 100m, Javelin, Shot Put and Standing Long Jump
    Jeremy Kranenburg – First in 50m and Standing Long Jump, Third in Shot Put, Fourth in Javelin
  • Katie Lesperance – Third in Javelin and Standing Long Jump, Fourth in 100m and Shot Put
  • Mike Bailey – First in 100m, Javelin and Running Long Jump, Third in 200m and Shot Put
