‘Stanley Pot’ goes ahead despite rain

   The famous            ‘Stanley Pot’

Like true athletes, rain didn’t stop the G. C. Huston Hawks of Southampton from playing in the annual ‘Stanley Pot’ road hockey tournament on Thursday, April 15th.

The annual event was the brainchild of former Principal Dan Russell and still carries on today.  The entire school participates, whether as players or fans, along with teachers and parents who come out to cheer on the players.

This year, the game went on despite wet conditions that made the game even more interesting, with fans lining Victoria street that was blocked off to traffic.

It was a close game between the ‘Dump Trucks’ and the ‘Salty Slugs’, with the Drump Trucks winning 6 – 5.
