Pat O’Connor of Southampton (Saugeen Shores) was recently nominated as a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal, which he received in Wingham from Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb on March 5, 2025.

Created to commemorate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on May 6, 2023, the King Charles III Coronation Medal is awarded to only 30,000 individuals across Canada who have made meaningful contributions to their communities.
The Medal highlights themes of service, sustainability, and diversity – and, three recipients are residents ofKing m Saugeen Shores – Muriel Shular, Laura Robinson and, most recently, Southampton resident Pat O’Connor.
O’Connor has long been known in the community for his volunteerism in raising funds and his involvement in municipal affairs throughout serving on various committees.
Nominated by fellow Rotarian, John Cherrie, among his many volunteer positions that O’Connor has held are:
