After a successful event in Saugeen Shores on July 20, 2024, the Lakeshore Triathlon is excited to announce that more than $10,000 was donated from the proceeds of this year’s race to local groups and organizations.
“We are excited every year to hold our race where women of any age and ability are able to compete. A close second to the completion of the race is the donations we are able to make from our race proceeds,” said Sarah Foster, Race Director for the Lakeshore Triathlon. “This year, we are pleased to be able to donate $13,500 to local community organizations, almost double the amount we were able to donate back last year.”
The 2024 Lakeshore Triathlon donated the following to organizations who supported us on race day, ensuring we ran a safe race:
● $1,000 to the Saugeen Shores Lifesaving Club
● $1,000 to Blue Water Rescue
● $1,000 to the Bruce Shrine Club
● $500 to St. John Ambulance
Due to race registrations and sponsorship support by local organizations, the triathlon was also able to donate $5,000 each to the Kabaeshiwim Respite Women’s Shelter on Saugeen First Nation and the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey. Both organizations received their donations earlier this month.
“We are so appreciative of the support we receive to put on the race, that also allows us to give back to where we run our race,” says Foster.
The Lakeshore Triathlon is also excited to launch new branding around the race – a simple, yet elegant design created by local designer A. Richards Consulting.
An updated website, including information about the 2025 race, will be launched on November 1st.
