Community exceeds Smile Cookie Challenge campaign for health care

It started with a simple smile and ended with an extraordinary show of community spirit.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of local residents, businesses, volunteers, and the dedicated teams at Tim Hortons across Saugeen Shores this year’s Smile Cookie challenge campaign saw an incredible 13,458 cookies purchased at the three Saugeen Shores Tim Horton’s locations in support of the Brightshores Health System Saugeen Shores Hospital Foundation.

Every cookie purchased, shared, and enjoyed throughout the campaign helped turn small moments into meaningful impact supporting vital equipment and patient care for our community.

“We are truly overwhelmed by the support,” said Foundation Chair, Martha Bennett. “To see our community rally together in such a joyful and generous way is incredibly moving. This is what makes Saugeen Shores so special, people showing up for one another, one cookie at a time.”

The campaign’s success is a reflection of many hands and hearts coming together. From Dave Falconer, Tim Hortons owner and staff who baked and decorated thousands of cookies, to the volunteers who gave their time, to every individual and business who purchased cookies to share with co-workers, friends, and family, each contribution played a part in this remarkable result.

“This campaign is about more than cookies,” added Bennett. “It’s about community pride, connection, and the shared belief that together, we can make a difference in local healthcare. And once again, this community showed just how powerful that can be.”

Funds raised will go directly toward priority healthcare equipment needs helping ensure patients and families continue to receive exceptional care close to home.

The Saugeen Shores Hospital Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s Smile Cookie campaign such a success.
