Armen’s Special Season Closing for local health care

For year-round residents and summer visitors, Armen’s Café on the main street (High St.) in Southampton (Saugeen Shores), has become a go-to for those who want a unique, culinary experience.

Each year, Armen Higgins closes his cafe for the off-season winter and, with his travels abroad, he has been able to bring home tastings from around the world … exciting dishes with unusual flavours and spices.

Each past year, Armen’s also hosted an annual ‘Hospital Auxiliary Day’ in support of the local hospital volunteers, when all proceeds from coffee sales from the day in May were donated to the Auxiliary.

The government does not provide any funding to hospitals for equipment and, therefore, the Hospital Auxiliary have fundraised for many years to help with Saugeen Memorial Hospital equipment purchases to keep quality health care close to home.

This year, as the summer comes to an end, Armen is once again lending his culinary expertise to raise funds for local health care.  On September 27th, from 11:00 -3:00 p.m., he will prepare, as only he can, an end-of-season roast chicken dinner complete with roast potatoes, Fall veggies and coleslaw, with all proceeds going to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital.

While September 27th may seem a long way off, Armen’s is already taking pre-orders … so order now.
